UMMM..WHITE GIRL WHAT YOU SAAYY ???

Having the freedom of speech is one thing Americans are proud of its a foundations of our rights but having no filter of word choice can be both damaging and harsh to others on the end of that line.,even in social media...for instance ...
Helms_2_1110
this reference was directed to president Obama ..and yes the word blanked out is the n word...and no this woman is not black ..i am sure most of you were very offended by this ....

my question is when do we begin to cross the line of the wrong context with the n word? is it when its used as by a white woman who is now considered as racist ?now imagine if this woman was black ...would there be an acceptance in its context?

i am in complete dismay on how ,regardless of race, the word nigga is so freely used !its time this changes before the n word is used out of context everyday by the wrong people at the wrong time just like in this quote.I'm not asking to forget the words history but rather watch the context its used in.

THE POWER OF WORDS

w . a . i . t              its vital to ask yourself,why am i talking ...

how are we using the power of  language to benefit peoples perception of us ?

Its crazy to imagine the power we possess when using words! With words alone, we obtain the cabability to make someone smile, make someone cry, express our feelings, tell our history, save a life, and even change a world!!!Without words, we would all be in a world of misunderstanding and miscommunication.

We live in a world today where we need to use our voice to spread positivity, creativity, and motivation to others in this world ,especially the younger generation.

... LETS MAKE THE CHANGE BY CHANGING OUR WORDS...

WHO AM I ??media and its influence on women

SEXY SLIMMER THINNER SOFTER BRIGHTER LIGHTER...these are few of the many terms being thrown at women when watching tv.

Ask yourself do these words influence how you want to look ?
Do you compare yourself to these "top models" you see on tv?
And what extent are you willing to go through to get this image?
The  American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) released their 15thannual multi-specialty procedural statistics.
Almost 9.2 million cosmetic surgical and nonsurgical procedures were performed in the United States in 2011.

SADLY,MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO GO TO THE EXTENT OF PLASTIC SURGERY TO GET THE IMAGE MEDIA PORTRAYS WOMEN AND MEN  SHOULD BE.

This is when i begin to ask myself :

                                                                ....WHO AM I ? ....
  • How far apart have I seperated myself from my
true self,  my own identity, my originality ?
  • Do I accept what I was given by God?
  •  Am I covering  up my own identity/self with cosmetics and the latest fashion that  media tells me is in ?

  •  I BELIEVE ITS TIME FOR US WOMEN TO RISE FROM THE IMAGE BEING SHOVED INTO OUR BRAINS BY THE MEDIA!

LETS FIND OUR TRUE SELF ONCE AGAIN  ....WE ARE ALL UNIQUE AND BEAUTIFUL..

Do We Want It All Back?

Now and days, being a hip hop artist is looked up to.People crave the attention most hip hop/rap artist recieve by the world because all they have. "We want the money, money and the cars, cars and the clothes....the hoes i suppose ,i just wanna be, i just wanna be successful"-drake

BUT is everything they have that creates their popular status
something from our history that was depicted as a negative thing but is now used to depict something"COOL"?
    artist 2chainz

    slaves in chains

Question : are we using things of the past and taking it back from its original use and changing it accordig to our comfort levels? Or is our mind still stuck with the generational curses given to us in slave days?

    Better Watch What You Watching...

When you watch tv,movies,or listen to the radio ,do you ever wonder or ask yourself ...how are African-Americans being portrayed in entertainment today?
    clip from movie "precious"
..This is one of many depictions that media portrays today about african american culture today..
lets make a quick comparision shall we

when you see these two comparisons ask yourself; what i see ,bout more importantly what will others see ?

what exactly is the media portraying black people as on television ? And is this depiction creating stereotypes and shanging or influencing how or what we think about in regards to other communities?

BETTER YET ..Does media corporations  assume we lack knowledge and create a perspective of  ourselfs that we can comform to,that we can identify oueslves with? are we being transformed by the renewing depictions media feeds us to believe?

    Are We Moving Foward?

Sankofa is an Akan word that means, "We must go back and reclaim our past so we can move forward; so we understand why and how we came to be who we are today."
Sadly, most african americans are uneducated about black history, including the terms  used to degrade, manipulate, and to keep our people and their minds in bondage.

      So heres a few questions;
    • Are we only looking back ignorantly to our history ,but NOT FOWARD as a culture by continually using the word "nigga"
    •  Is our usage of the word beneifical to us as a whole or does it keep our mind in a continual  marking time?
    • Is  using that  word  our biggest double standard to ourselves and other races?
    • Do we really understand the potency of this word ? DO WE REALLY consider ourselves educated on it ?

LETS EVOLVE INTO THE SANKOFA BIRD ;LETS LOOK BACK AND MOVE FOWARD! Foward in our understanding ...in our history,...in our own perspectives of ourselves...for today children  for tomorrows eternity!
